Casa das Histórias, Paula Rego

“Casa das Histórias Paula Rego” is full of visual stories to see, feel and live. This unique museum, opened in September 2009 is based in Cascais, Portugal.

This museum is the “Noah’s ark” of Paula Rego’s knowledge and talent. However, although the works of the artist are the “leader” of this house, there are also works from her husband, the british artist Victor Willing (1928 – 1988).

This house has been increasing reputation in national and international context, includes also some models used by Paula Rego in reference works, a large textile work, and still part of her document collection.

In addition to the exhibitions, we can enjoy a studio of arts, events and activities, auditoriums and even a store.

But you want to know what adds value to this art box? The truth is that the magic does not only happen in the inner walls of the house but also in all its exterior architecture.

This art nest that accumulates Rego’s works was designed by the hand of the master Eduardo Souto de Moura.

A house which opens its door to stories surrounded by art and design. An overwhelming visual universe.
