You don’t know the good that could be for you! It isn’t, but it could be the motto of Deka, a project that gives everything for the “deck”, or rather for skateboarding. Born of thinkers little heads Diogo Valente and Diogo Soares, designers of Porto, it began as a work for the MA Illustration and Animation of IPCA in Barcelos. So the Dekaday was born, an experimental graphic diary, in which the two friends illustrating a pair of skate boards. Time passed and the project evolved Having “skateboard while inspiration for artistic creation”, they advertise it as a modality, but also as an “agent of integration of all the surrounding culture”, Diogo Valente says, who , after passing through Barcelona, see now working in London, where he tries to expand the project. The first step was the Dekalhões, an event promoted under the festival Milhões de Festa 2013. Now they invited a number of illustrators to sign a few boards. For now there are only digitally, but the “intent” says Diogo, is that one day come to life. They only lack the supports. All to “highlight the skateboard as a fickle and natural game”.
