Fazenda Nova is a luxurious boutique hotel in Algarve, south Portugal. A lovely British couple, Tim and Hallie Robinson, bought a typical Portuguese country house and with the help of the architect Aida Correia, they restored it. This place was formerly family home and farm that sits on ten hectares of land, with its own orchard, vegetable and herb gardens.
Nowadays is a lovely ten bed hotel, fifteen minutes from the city of Tavira, is one of the top places to go when visiting Portugal, as it had a 10 page article in Sleeper (leading hotel design magazine) in the last month issue.
The Robinson’s created this space so that it became a retreat for their guests, as it is relaxing and very Zen, with an incredible garden designed by a local with “a series of paths lead you to undiscovered, wilder areas where you can reflect and relax and study the bird life”. This garden is complemented by a swimming pool to enjoy the sun and warmness of Portugal!
The interiors, designed by Tim and Hallie, offer you not only seven garden suites, two apartments and one penthouse, but a dining place, a library and a bar. It was completely furnished by Tim and Hallie – and you can see how talented they are. In the restaurant “A Cozinha” you can find Portuguese gastronomy, and some of the ingredients are cultivated by them or sourced locally.
This couple is living the dream: they abandoned the hectic life they had in the busy city of London, where they had a stressful life, to build this incredible space.
