Summer is upon us, and nothing like getting to know some of the best beaches for your holidays. Portugal has two of the best and most beautiful beaches in Europe. The guarantee is given by the organization European Best Destinations, a European non-profit organization that aims to promote culture and tourism of the Old Continent.
Praia da Cova Redonda, in Lagoa, Algarve, Praia and Porto Santo, Madeira, the Portuguese representatives are among those that are, for the European Best Destinations, the 15 European bathing wonderland, ideal for “relax, do the party or just walking”.
According to the organization, the Algarve beach is “a real paradise, with calm, clear waters”, while Porto Santo is described as one of the few ‘resorts’ Europe still undiscovered.
“The forms that were appearing on the cliffs [Praia da Cova Redonda] thanks to the erosion of rocks are extraordinary,” praises the European Best Destinations, highlighting the fact that the path to the beach be done through “a series of paved steps the Portuguese style and surrounded by greenery”.
The European entity points out, moreover, that the Porto Santo “is a long beach with a piece of adjacent island” and, “during its six miles of soft white sands” can “find a handful restaurants and hotels” that complete the experience.
The list compiled by the European Best Destinations have also destinations such as Croatia, Germany, Greece, Italy or Scotland.
Remember that EBD is also responsible for promoting the annual election of “European Best Destination”, title of best European destination voted by international users.
